Masaryk's Faculty of Medicine moved to the Brno-Bohunice campus in 2010, what are the facilities like and how does the campus infrastructure compare to other Central European medical schools?

The Bohunice campus is a modern dedicated medical campus outside the city center. This thread covers what the facilities look like, how accessible the campus is from the center of Brno, what simulation and laboratory resources are available, and how the overall learning environment compares to older campuses elsewhere.

i visited bohunice before enrolling and was honestly kind of shocked by how modern it looks. Coming from a smaller town i expected something more old school and soviet looking but it is genuinely a clean modern campus. everything medical is right there together, the faculty building, the teaching hospital, the labs. It feels like a proper medical ecosystem rather than scattered buildings across a city

the accessibility question is real though. bohunice is not walking distance from the city center, you need to take a tram and it takes maybe 20 to 25 minutes from the main square depending on connections. it is fine but if you are used to living super central and walking everywhere it takes some adjusting. tram line 8 goes directly there so once you know the route it becomes second nature

yeah the tram situation is manageable, i was worried about it initially but most students just live along the tram line or near bohunice anyway so it works out. the city center is still close enough for everything social
