A space for students to discuss MCAT preparation strategies, study schedules, recommended books, online resources, and common mistakes to avoid.
Starting my MCAT prep in two months, and I’m overwhelmed by the resources. Everyone online pushes a different book/course/strategy. For people who actually took it and did well, what’s the real move? Looking for an honest study plan, not an ad.
Content review first, then practice, then MORE practice. The biggest mistake I see is people reading review books for three months and barely doing questions. Flip that. Do a fast content pass then live in practice questions and full-length exams. The test is about applying knowledge under time pressure, not reciting it. Aim for as many official practice tests as you can afford.
Co-signing the “practice > review” point so hard. My score jumped the most once I started reviewing every wrong answer in detail instead of just doing more questions. The review of practice is where the learning happens.
How long did people study total? I keep hearing anywhere from 2 to 6 months and it’s confusing.
